Taraweeh Dua in english translation and transliteration from arabic

Taraweeh

Taraweeh meaning

The word “Taraweeh” comes from the Arabic word for rest or relaxation, as worshippers take short breaks between sets of rakats

What is Taraweeh?

  • Taraweeh prayers are special night prayers performed by Muslims after the Isha (night) prayer throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
  • Taraweeh prayers are not obligatory but are strongly recommended (Sunnah)
  • They typically consist of 8 or 20 rakats (units of prayer), depending on different Islamic traditions
  • Taraweeh prayers often involve recitation of substantial portions of the Quran. Many Muslims prefer to perform Taraweeh in congregation at mosques, though they can also be performed individually at home

Is Taraweeh made only in Ramadan?

Yes, Taraweeh prayers are specifically performed only during the month of Ramadan.
